There is no better sight than a child smiling while they are learning.
Thank you for visiting my page! I have been extremely blessed in my career and feel like I am always learning something new about mathematics education. I hope sharing what happens in my classroom can provide some inspiration or encouragement to other teachers! Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or would like additional information!!
About Me
I graduated from the University at Albany in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. I began teaching in North Carolina in 2011. In my third year of teaching I applied to participate in a research group that completely changed my viewpoint on mathematics education. I was been blessed with the opportunity to be a 3-year participant in Project LEAD in association with Meredith College. In the project we learned all aspects (both from the teacher and student view) of using task-based learning in a math classroom. Project LEAD connected me with amazing math teachers and consultants all over the state. The culmination of our participation in the project was to lead professional development for other teachers in the state. It was an amazing experience and I loved being able to share what we learned with other educators! I have also had the opportunity to participate in curriculum writing at the county level.
