Mathematics Vision Project
This is a free resource!! This site provides accessible and engaging task-based learning that is designed to have students engage in mathematics. The tasks promote students building understanding as they work in small groups digging into the task problem. Classroom discussion helps to solidify student understanding and present different ways of approaching the problem. I highly suggest that you visit this website! I would be more than happy to answer questions you have about how I use these materials in my classroom!
Breakout Edu
Everything on this site is not a free resource. However, there are some wonderful free resources! If you've ever considered trying a breakout or escape room for review, knowing where to start is the hardest part! I used the physical template under "Design A Game" my first time. It was such a huge help!!
Week of Inspirational Math
If you've never heard or Jo Boaler, stop what you're doing and watch this video! She is such an inspiration to me in my classroom and how I approach everything I do with my students. I start every semester with one of the four-week plans. Each activity is accompanied by a video to start the session. Each session is designed to carry a different message supporting creative and visual mathematics learning. My favorite message is that mistakes make your brain grow! I use that as a positive statement in my classroom anytime a student makes a mistake. Changing the way students view mathematics is essential to their success!
